CORUM VIP:

Dan Madoni originally designed Corum as a retail product that could compete toe to toe with Desktop Database systems like Microsoft Access. The code base for CORUM later made its way into the XDE Server Platform ( a BizTalk precursor) .

Corum VIP is a Win32 Desktop application similar to MS Access. Corum presents the user with several important and unique improvements over the standard desktop db.. First and foremost, Corum can process English language queries. An end user does not have to learn SQL syntax or find ways to create a Query By Example. Instead of all that, a user can simply type a question such as " What are my sales in the California region in December".

The second ground breaking design element of Corum is the Visual Iconic Programming interface - VIP. It is aimed at the power user who doesnt have the time nor inclination to study a programming language but wants to imbue a database with certain logic. By connection icons and setting a few properties, such a user is effectively programming Corum.

Tool Set: C++, MFC, ATL
